Linda's 4 night Disney Wonder Cruise - March 2005

We just got back from a four day Wonder cruise.

The first thing we were glad about is after driving to Florida on Thursday night after work we didn't cruise until Sunday. I was exhausted and was glad to relax in Daytona a few days before we headed out. the traffic was fine until we got into Georgia and then it stopped! We went less than 4 miles in over an hour -- luckily we had no problems coming North on the way home Sunday.

We got to the ship early and since not interested in Palo or spas were able to relax at the adult pool after lunch with NO CROWDS THERE for awhile in the afternoon. Our 17 yr old immediately checked out the loft and we hardly saw him the rest of the cruise. Typically the adult pool area was not too crowded compared to the other pool areas. A few kids try to join their parents but glad Disney enforces the rules and asks them to move to the other pools.

We were in 7136. Our cabin was nice but our deck although big was not as big as our previous cruise. Jonnie, Our cabin host was nice and our servers also were -- Cristian and Kabula.

Nassau had improved since we were there in 98-- a few curb cuts and the "sellers" weren't so pushy. Folks were friendly and we were pleasantly surprised after negative experiences on the 4th sailing of the magic. We opted to do some shopping and then stop for a swim at the public beach just beyond the straw market. You can see this beach from the ship and also see the ship from the beach which is nice. We returned to the ship for lunch . We couldn't do any Disney excursions because they don't offer any wheelchair accessible transportation which still surprises me. We contacted one private company but they didn't answer our emails and I was concerned about the reliability of getting back to the ship since no alternative if they didn't show up!

Castaway was lovely as always! We headed to the family beach for awhile then explored the island and headed to the adult beach for lobster! That area is not accessible so Dan and I sat on the runway enjoying our lunch together. Many cast members walked by us and I was surprised that none commented about our need to eat on the runway due to non paved areas at the adult beach and eating area. Still a great meal then we returned to the family beach ........son got scorched by the sun and was so sick he spent the evening in the cabin. He got most of the sun while snorkeling so remind those kids to use sunscreen!

Our sea day we spent relaxing often on 7 aft or on our verandah as the day progressed. We enjoyed the food and shows and thought we would fast for awhile post cruise but as we returned to Daytona it wasn't long before we wanted ocean or river side restaurants and more great food!

We weren't sure if we would enjoy a 4 day after our 7 BUT combining the trip with some beach time made it a longer trip and more enjoyable.
